Building stronger communities - one home at a time!

2013 Home Builders Blitz

Our Home Builders Blitz begins July 22 on Horn Tavern Road in Fairview. The Southwestern Company has generously signed on to be a half-home sponsor, donating $35,000 to the Build. This home will be built in just 13 days, using in-kind donations and labor from local homebuilders and businesses, including Alpha Roofing Systems, American Heating and Cooling, Apcom, City Electric Supply, Drees Homes, Dow, Felix Enterprises, Flow Construction, GAF, Huskey Lumber, John Maher Builders, The Jones Company, Lee Company, Metro Carpets, Mike Ford Custom Builders, Petersen and Sons, LLC, Professional Finishes, Real Green Solutions, Tennessee Glass, Tennessee Installed Products, 31-W Insulation, Valley Interior Products, Valspar, Warren Brothers Sash and Door, The Whirlpool Corporation, Wilsonart and Yale Locks and Hardware.

Habitat’s Home Builders Blitz is a partnership between Habitat affiliates and the building community to build and renovate homes across the United States. Builders and Habitat affiliates work closely to organize all aspects of building, including securing subcontractors and suppliers, fundraising and seeking donations of materials.

The Builders Blitz builds began in 2002 in Wake Forest, NC and since then the program has enjoyed great success, resulting in more than 1,000 safe, affordable homes across the country.

Tiffany Otey is super excited about her new Habitat home. When not caring for her four children, Tiffany stays busy, working full-time at Franklin Special School District as a teacher assistant and part-time at KinderCare Learning Center as a teacher.

Tiffany will be working alongside local contractors and volunteers during this year's Builders Blitz. She is amazed that so many people will be involved, and the house will be completed in just 13 days. She wants all of her sponsors to know how much she appreciates this opportunity to make a better life for her family. She knows several other Habitat homeowners and realizes the advantages she will have with an affordable house payment.
