Habitat for Humanity of Williamson County, Inc, (HFHWC) is a non-profit, 501(c) 3 organization and ecumenical Christian ministry that works with low-income families and donors to build simple, decent homes and sell them with no profit using zero interest loans. HFHWC was fully incorporated as an affiliate of Habitat for Humanity International in 1992. Since that time, more than 125 families have been served through HFHWC and this affiliate currently builds 10 to 12 homes per year. Position reports to the HFHWC Board of Directors and will be located in Franklin, Tennessee.

Accountable to the Habitat for Humanity Board of Directors for the effective and efficient operation of the organization’s affiliate in Williamson County, Tennessee and for the conformity with its bylaws and policies agreed upon by the Board.  Executive Director will provide vision and leadership to Habitat for Humanity, the Board of Directors and staff. Manage and direct the organization toward its primary objectives, based on the affiliates long term strategic plan and initiatives and performing required duties personally and through working with subordinate managers. Maintain strong advocacy to the Habitat for Humanity mission to provide decent affordable housing in our service area.

Position Overview:

The focus of the role is on achieving results which are aligned with the larger picture of the organization and its strategic goals. Key performance objectives and attributes include initiative, drive and the ability to stay focused on results despite changing conditions. Decision making is focused on the implementation of practical and timely solutions. The work involves innovation and creativity in generating ideas for quick responses. Self assurance and confidence to purposely achieve results while problem solving and engaging the commitment of others is essential. Required is a leadership style that is firm, goal oriented and motivational while training and engaging others enthusiastically toward the affiliate’s objectives.

The ability to build rapport and relationships with individuals and groups will require one with an outgoing, confident and persuasive communication style.

Because of the fast paced work environment, the ability to learn quickly and thoroughly while recognizing and adapting to change is critical. The scope of the role requires effectively delegation to proven people on staff and the various committees of the affiliate.

The role requires a sense of urgency and confidence to handle a variety of challenges and the commitment to the success of the business while maintaining high standards of achievement and accountability. The emphasis must be on results and effective systems that achieve objectives with and through people rather than on the details of implantation.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities include overseeing and leading in the following areas: fundraising, organizational strategy, finance, construction, and affiliate ReStore retail operations.
